Who Is Baki Hummus?

Baki hummus was born from a cultural celebratory event known as Juneteenth. Our "Eat The Culture" Juneteenth celebration included a feast where we wanted to present black-eyed peas in an non traditional way. Our brainstorm led us to "baki hummus".

"Baki", comes from the Hausa language in West Africa and when translated means "Black". Paying homage to hummus's original root in Africa and as a small black woman-owned company showcasing the use of black-eyed peas, the name "baki hummus" seemed fitting. We are intentional about celebrating the culture from food content to our branding and packaging.

Our black-eyed pea hummus has been well received since our event and we ready to share it with a wider audience of hummus enthusiasts and adventurous dippers!
